Reading FC head of football operations Mark Bowen clarified that football agent Kia Joorabchian does not have an ‘input’ in decisions at the club.

Joorabchian has reportedly been involved with the Royals as an advisor since Mr Dai arrived at the club in 2017

“Kia has not got a role or an input in terms of being employed by the club,” said Bowen.

“He is a friend of the owner, I know that for a fact.

“At times, the likes of Danny Drinkwater, he (Kia Joorabchian) managed to get that situation done at the club so he helped the club in my opinion.

“Kia will not have any personal involvement in the club in making decisions.

Reading FC: Time for a change or keep the faith?

“That falls to me and my team and reporting directly to Mr Dai.”

Bowen claimed that club owner Mr Dai is determined to help the club resolve their financial issues and eventually reach the Premier League.

He continued: “I’d hazard a guess that every owner, every chief executive has people they ask for advice.

“Especially with absent owners. Mr Dai spends as much time as he can in the country but effecitviely most of the time he has business interests outside of the county.

“Every club will have people that the owner will speak to but there’s a massive difference between that person having a direct involvement in the club.

“My opinion is he (Mr Dai) won’t stop until he gets the club into the Premier League and further on from there.

“A major part is making sure that the fans are engaged.

“Every fan understands that you can’t give them every detail and that some things remain private but it’s important for us to build bridges with them again.

“They understand financially what Mr Dai has put into this club has been incredible but he’s a private person. My job is to make sure there is a lot more clarity and that the fans are engaged.”
