A MAN has been jailed for more than two years for drug supply offences in Reading.
Archie Hales, aged 19 and of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to a count each of possession with intent to supply heroin, possession with intent to supply cocaine, and possession of criminal property.
He submitted the plea at Reading Crown Court on September 26 last year, and was sentenced to a total of two years and four months’ imprisonment at the same court on Thursday, January 29.
A forfeiture and destruction order was also made for the drugs, mobile phones, an e-bike and cash under Section 27 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.
It comes after Hales was seen on an e-bike in September last year, and entered a shop in the town, where he was detained for a drug search.
Inside a black backpack, officers recovered more than £820 in cash and a bag of cannabis.
An enhanced search was then conducted where officers located 82 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin, and Hales was also found in possession of two iPhones.
He was arrested and charged the following day.
Investigating officer PC Ross Hutcheson of the Reading Proactive Team said: “Our team will continue to proactively target and prosecute offenders who seek to deal drugs in our communities.
“Our activity will be both visible and covert and aimed at pursuing offenders involved in the supply of drugs.
“Hales will now search a prison sentence as a result of his illegal activity, and I hope that he spends time reflecting on his actions.”
