A MAN has been jailed for more than four years for drug supply in Reading.
Telmo Vaz, aged 29 and of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs–namely heroin and cocaine–in a hearing at Reading Crown Court on Tuesday, August 27.
On July 25, officers conducted a warrant on an address on Portman Way while Vaz was under investigation for drug supply.
Officers recovered a large quantity of class A drugs, as well as cash, mobile phones, and drugs paraphernalia, which were also seized.
Vaz was arrested that day and charged the following day.
He was sentenced to four years and one month in Prison at a hearing on Friday, September 27.
Investigating officer PC Chris Weedon, based at Reading police station, said: “The supply of class A drugs is a scourge in our communities and I am pleased that we have managed to bring Vaz to justice and remove his drugs from the streets.
“We will never tire at tackling the supply of drugs in the Thames Valley, and will always seek to bring offenders before the courts.
