A MAN has been charged in connection with a serious assault in Reading.
Jamie Alford, aged 46 and of no fixed abode, has been charged with a count of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and a count of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
Alford was charged on Monday, June 17, and appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court on the same day.
A second man, also 46 and of no fixed abode, was released with no further action taken.
It follows and incident which took place just after 2am on Sunday, June 16, when a man received cuts to his neck during an altercation in St Mary’s Butts, Reading.
Alford has been remanded in custody and is now due to appear at Reading Crown Court on Wednesday, July 15.
