Residents in Katesgrove took to the streets under clear blue skies today, proving that even the simplest acts can have a lasting impact.
Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) from Thames Valley Police joined forces with the Katesgrove Community Association for a coordinated litter pick along Whitley Street and nearby roads. What might seem like a routine clean-up quickly became something more — a visible show of community spirit and local pride.
With the sun shining, volunteers worked side by side to clear rubbish, improving the look and feel of the neighbourhood. But the initiative wasn’t just about tidying up. Officers say being present in the area helps strengthen relationships with residents, deter crime and build trust within the community.
Locals who took part described the event as “simple but meaningful,” highlighting how small actions can bring people together while making a tangible difference to their surroundings.
Organisers extended their thanks to everyone who participated, emphasising that collective efforts.
