A CONCERT under the stars with the stars – that’s the promise from Windsor Racecourse, which is organising a night of music this summer.
Pianist and performer Jools Holland is to perform with Gilson Lavis and guest vocalists Ruby Turner, Louise Marshall, Sumudu Jayatilaka and Toby Lee on Friday, August 16.
The special, non-race day, is proving to be popular, event organiser Jonathan Ware says: “We’ve been hoping to bring Jools to the area to perform for some time and we couldn’t be happier to have him joining our Summertime Live weekend this August.
“Tickets went on sale last week and the response so far has been huge.
“Jools’ popularity to people of all ages and music tastes really shows.
“It’s going to be a fantastic evening.”
Tickets cost £45, with child tickets £15. Under twos get in free. There are VIP tickets available as well, offering a premium bar area and, whisper it, posh toilets.
The event site will feature a variety of bars and independent food traders and concertgoers can bring fold up chairs and blankets with them.
Gates open at 4pm, with the music starting at 6.45pm.

For those that want to hear Jools Holland, but can’t make the Windsor date, he will be coming to The Hexagon in Reading on Sunday, November 10. His guests will be Marc Almond, Toby Lee, Ruby Turner, Louise Marshall and Samudu Jayatilaka, with support.
