Reading FC midfielder Harvey Knibbs has sent a message to the fans following the end of the season.
The Royals man admitted that he ‘wasn’t prepared’ for the season to end as Reading missed out on grabbing a League One play-off spot on the final day.
Reading were defeated at home by Barnsley in front of a packed out SCL, while Leyton Orient won at Huddersfield to take the final remaining spot in the top six.
Knibbs enjoyed another excellent campaign in his second season at the club where he scored 14 goals and contributed six assists.
He was voted 3rd in the fans’ Player of the Season vote.
Taking to Instagram, he said: “I wasn’t prepared for our season to end yesterday, it’s
hard to reflect with emotions so raw but I’m so proud of what this groups accomplished during this two year spell.
“Amongst all the setbacks and adversity we found a togetherness that transformed what was meant to be a season of survival into one of hope and optimism.
“To the fans who supported us week in, week out, I hope you saw a team you could truly resonate with. Yesterday’s ownership news feels like a huge step towards finally getting your club back, something you’ve long deserved.”
