Last Sunday members of the Island Sailing Club – Reading took part in their annual longest day race.
The race, which last for five hours, sees the team take turns at sailing a team dinghy.
As it clashed with Father’s Day, numbers were down this year, but it turned out to be a highly competitive race.
During the 25 laps, the lead position changed frequently but at the final horn it was the ‘A Team’ that were declared the winners.
The presentation of the trophy was made back in the club house by Vice Commodore, Roland Briggs, along with other prizes such as that for the fastest lap before a well-earned tea and cakes.
The Island Sailing Club – Reading, is a RYA Registered Training Establishment with a range of courses on their Lake at Pingewood for anyone wishing to take up sailing.
