A READING charity is inviting fathers and male carers of children with special needs to an upcoming support event.
Parenting Special Children will be giving practical advice to parents, adoptive parents, foster and kinship carers of children who have experienced trauma or have special needs at Lower Earley Baptist Church on Monday, July 17.
To mark the fifth anniversary of the charity’s Dads and Male Carers Support Group, the session will be led by specialist parenting practitioner Peter Burton.
As well as professional guidance, attendees will have the opportunity to speak to others in similar positions and circumstances.
Tickets are £5 for Berkshire parents/carers and £10 for non-Berkshire parents/carers. They can be purchased online.
The event is at minimal costs thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, but the Parenting Special Children welcomes any on-the-day donations.
Visitors should get to the venue for 7.30pm.
