FORGET Venice, Reading’s the place to be if you want to be in the *cough* city of love.
A new survey of the UK’s dating hot spots found the town is the fourth best place if you want to find a date.
The team at OnlineCasinos.co.uk analysed the number of dating app users, plus bars and pubs across the 25 most populated UK cities – and Reading – to discover the dating hotspots for single Brits.
Reading has 1,851 singletons looking for love – or 277 Romeos per 1,000 people.
The town also has 136 bars and pubs – that’s 20 per 1,000 people – so there are plenty of social spaces to find that special romance.
It all gives the Ding a romance score of 7.92.
Liverpool – home to the Liver Birds, Merseybeat and the Albert Docks – is top for people hoping Cupid’s arrow will strike.
It has a romance score of 9.38/10, with around 290 singles per 1,000 people. It also records more than 30 bars and pubs per 1,000 people, achieving a massive 9.58/10 social score – 60% higher than tenth spot Leicester (3.75/10).
Stoke-on-Trent ranks as the second best dating hotspot for single Brits, with a romance score of 8.96/10, and Preston was third (8.95/10).
A spokesperson at OnlineCasinos.co.uk said its three top dating tips were to be open minded, be yourself and always focus on the present.
“Don’t go into your date with any expectations, this can help you figure out what you’re really looking for and introduce you to new things you didn’t even know you wanted in a partner,” they advise.
“Being yourself means you are confident and ready to date and you aren’t scared of anyone getting to know the real you.
“Old fears and insecurities can prevent you from being truly happy with someone new, so as much as it can be hard to forget the past, try to focus on current conversations and experiences.”
