A NEW home care service has been launched in Winnersh, which will look to enable elderly and vulnerable people to continue living independently at home.
Walfinch Home Care Reading & Wokingham will look to bring high quality, personalised services ranging from post-surgery convalescent care to live-in care.
Ghizlane Tadili, owner of the Walfinch home care service in Wokingham and Reading, said: “At Walfinch our philosophy includes delivering care that passes ‘The Mum Test’ – that is care you would want for your own mum. People needing care, and their families, want a bespoke high-quality service, which is what we aim to provide.
“As a mum of two school-aged daughters myself, I understand what sensitive, personalised care means in practice.”
She added that all members of the care team are personally trained by herself and care manager Jo Clifton at the office.
Home care calls last at least one hour long to ensure Walfinch provides ‘top quality’ services which are designed to the individuals specific needs and wishes.
One of the services offered is respite care which is designed to give informal carers, such as family and friends, a break.
Determined to celebrate Walfinch’s work with the community, Ms Tadili and Ms Clifton attended the recent Wokingham and District Association for the Elderly (WADE) Day Care Centre summer fair, where they gave away gifts and ran a tombola. The latter generated £250 towards the charity’s services.
Ms Tadili and her care team also took part in WADE’s coronation party earlier this year, helping to make the day one to remember for the centre’s clients.
