Reading FC fans again voiced their praise following another impressive display from young star Ashqar Ahmed.
The 17-year-old has caught the eye of the Royals fans for his tenacious displays at right-back this season.
Having performed magnificently during pre-season, Ahmed has now seized his opportunity in the first-team after winning the trust of manager Noel Hunt despite his youth.
He is just the latest in a long line of academy products who have broken into the first-team at Reading in recent seasons.
Ahmed has now appeared in three League One games and two EFL Cup games for Reading, including Saturday’s 1-0 win over Port Vale where he played 81 minutes before being replaced by Jeriel Dorsett.
One fan said: “Ashqar Ahmed has been phenomenal yet again. His place to lose imo.”
Another added: “Ahmed won’t be here for long I’m telling you that much.”
Another said: “He’s going to be a star – get him on a decent contract quickly.”
Another fan said: “Absolute class, will play at a higher level for sure could even go all the way.”
Reading are back in action tomorrow night when they face rivals Swindon Town in the EFL Trophy.
