GREAT Western Railway has laid out its timetables for the Bank Holiday weekend as RMT strikes see heavy reduced services across the network.

On Saturday, August 26, GWR will see extremely limited services beginning at 7am and concluding by around 6.30pm.

This will have a particularly adverse affect on those travelling to Reading for Reading Festival, especially those with day tickets for Saturday.

Limited services will run between Paddington and: Reading/Didcot, Newbury, Bristol Temple Meads, Oxford, Plymouth, and Cardiff.

Some services will also run between Reading and Basingstoke, Reading and Redhill, Didcot and Oxford, Twyford and Henley-on-Thames, and Slough and Windsor.

Some limited services will also run between West Ealing and Greenford, Slough and Windsor, Maidenhead and Bourne End, and Bristol and Plymouth.

As well as reduced services, GWR expects that trains will be much busier than usual due to reduced frequency.

The Night Riviera Sleeper service will not operate.

The following day, Sunday, August 28, trains will run as planned with some changes to service start-up and some planned cancellations.

Those with plans to travel are encouraged to check their journeys or visit gwr.com/strike to see how their journeys might be disrupted.

Strikes are also planned for the following Saturday, September 2, with timetables and details yet to be confirmed.
