A NIGHT of goth rock is coming to Reading next weekend, thanks to Ghost Dance.
Club Velocity has arranged for the band to come to The Face Bar on Thursday, April 18, from 8pm.
The gig sees the band led by Anne Marie Hurst perform a mixture of old favourites and newer treats including one of its most recent, Falling Down.
Originally a backing vocalist in Elements, Anne Marie formed Skeletal Family in 1982. She left the group in 1985 to launch Ghost Dance with Gary Marx, ex of Sisters of Mercy.
The band released several indie chart hit singles through Karbon Records, which were later compiled on the Gathering Dust album.
In 1989 they signed to Chrysalis Records and released the Stop The World album and two more singles, including Down To The Wire.
They reformed in 2019, with former Harlequyn members Tim Walker, Phil Noble and Dave Wood, then in 2020, Stephen Derrig (formally of Original Sin) completed the line-up and work commenced on a new album.
Both Harlequyn and Original Sin had played several support gigs to the original Ghost Dance line-up in the late 80s.
And the gig in the Chatham Street bar is a chance to hear what made their music endure for more than 40 years.
