WAINGELS School has commended its students after reporting improved results compared to 2019.
Year 11 students at Waingels achieved on average a Strong Pass of Grade 5 across all of their subjects.
Core subjects saw improvements, with Maths achieving more Grade 5+ results than last year and nearly one more full class of students achieving a Grade 5 in English and Maths than in 2019.
More than a quarter of students overall achieved Grades 7 or higher in their first formal exams since 2019.
The school said: “We could not be more proud of the young adults they have become, the resilience they have shown, and of course, the results they have achieved.”
Headteacher, Mrs. Humber said, “We are delighted with the examination results that our Year 11 students have achieved this summer.
“It was a privilege this morning to celebrate with them and their parent/carers – to see so many happy students proud of their achievements and all of the hard work that they put into achieving these fantastic outcomes.
“I am also delighted that the majority of students have chosen to stay and study at our Sixth Form and that all students have been able to achieve their next steps.
“I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank our Governors, Parent/Carers and the community for their ongoing support, recognising the strong partnership we have which supports students to reach their full potential.”
