YOUNGSTERS with green fingers are invited to learn more about how to grow fruit this weekend.
Dobbies garden centres in Hare Hatch and Spencers Wood are holding their monthly sessions for children aged four to 10 on Sunday.
The session will look at how they can start planting for their own harvests in years to come.
It is part of the Little Seedlings Club, that aims to help the budding gardeners learn more about the environment around them.
The workshop will cover the early history of different fruit, as well as diving into the science, illustrating how some fruits are misidentified as vegetables.
Children will also learn about the health benefits, along with how different fruits grow and how to plant their own at home.
Dobbies’ partnership and events manager, Sarah Murray, said: “Our Little Seedling Club is very popular and we hope to encourage and nurture young people’s passion for growing their own crops.
“We’re looking forward to highlighting all the health and wellbeing benefits of fruit, as well as having lots of fun.”
Booking is required.
