THE FUTURE of a pub in central Reading is unclear as owner announce they are moving on from management of the venue.
The owners of The Lyndhurst, Queens Road, have posted to social media to say that they will be foregoing the running of the pub when their current tenancy ends.
They thanked customers and staff, adding that the last few years had been “extremely challenging” but were grateful for the support of their patrons.
It follows months of refurbishment works at the venue, which only concluded at the end of 2023.
Current owners will remain for a number of months before moving on, and the ultimate fate of the venue is still unconfirmed.
The statement posted to social media reads: “We are at the end of an amazing journey as our tenancy comes to an end, and we think it’s the right time to pass on the baton to someone who can take it forward.
“We would like to thank each and every member of our team, especially Piotr and Kushal who have been with us from the very first day.
“Thanks for your hard work, commitment, and dedication, turning strangers into regulars, and for creating such a unique experience.”
It continues: “The last couple of years have been extremely challenging for all of us, but we have got through it thanks to the amazing support from all of our customers, for which we are extremely grateful.
“Thank you for choosing us as your go-to spot for birthdays, anniversaries, and life’s little victories– or just for a pint and a chat.
“In the coming months we will try and celebrate all of the popular dishes which you have loved.
“We hope to see as many of you in the coming months. Thanks once again.”
