FREE drinks, food samples and plenty of pancakes are being promised when a new diner opens in Reading town centre this Saturday.

Describing themselves as Japanese souffle pancake slingers, Fluffy Fluffy is welcoming the town to its largest UK branch by offering a host of freebies.

The first 200 people to turn up from noon on Saturday, August 26, can pick up a free drink, and try Basque Burntop Cheesecake Bites from a special secret menu.

There will also be a contest to win £400 in store credit and a pancake making experience. To take part, people should follow the company on Instagram – @fluffyfluffyuk. The company is also on TikTok.

Although the cuisine is inspired by Japan, the company is originally from Canada, and has taken over a unit in The Village – the retail centre formerly known as Kings Walk – in Kings Road.

This is the company’s third UK branch, following a launch in Manchester last October and a second in Leicester.

The company says that its pancakes are handmade from fresh ingredients and are cloud-like. Slow cooked, they have a light and fluffy consistency, and then topped with fruits, creams, syrups and sauces including Nutella, Biscoff, and Oreo.
