Cyclists in Reading will be able to access free bike safety checks and minor repairs at Station Hill this month.

The estate will host its first public Dr Bike session on Tuesday 9 December, running from 11:00 to 14:00 outside ONE Station Hill. The event is open to residents, office workers, commuters and visitors.

The checks will be delivered by Avanti Cycling’s Dr Bike team, which regularly runs bike maintenance sessions in Reading town centre.

Cyclists can drop in at any point during the three-hour session for a full safety inspection, minor brake and gear adjustments, basic repairs where possible, and advice on any further work needed. The team will also offer tips on cycling safely around Reading.

Station Hill said the event forms part of its ongoing commitment to support active and sustainable travel in the local community.

Rachelle Bownes, General Manager at Station Hill, said: “We’re excited to welcome Dr Bike to Station Hill and make it even easier for people across Reading to travel by bike. Sessions like this help keep bikes road-safe and support healthier, more sustainable journeys for everyone using the estate.”
