Former Reading FC striker Jamie Cureton has broken an incredible record in football at 50 years of age.
The forward, who is still playing after reaching his 50th birthday, has now scored in the top 10 tiers of the English football pyramid.
He joined step six side Kings Park Rangers earlier this month and scored his first goal for the club at the weekend which meant that he achieved the exceptional feat.
Cureton told BBC Sport that he is keen to keep playing for as long as possible and is chasing down 400 career goals.
He said: “I’m stil about, I think, four or five goals away from 400, so that’s one I’d like to chase.
“I’ve always said as long as I’m fit enough, and I’m not letting anyone down, then I would still play.
“I’m just playing for fun, because I can and I still enjoy it and love it.”
Cureton has played for a whole host of clubs during a senior career which started at Norwich City in 1993.
He spent three years with Reading and became a fans favourite during his stint in Berkshire.
He joined the Royals in 2000 and enjoyed a remarkable debut campaign which saw him net 30 times in all competitions, including 26 goals in the Second Division and scored in the play-off final, which Reading lost to Walsall.
He then helped Reading to win promotion in the 2001/02 campaign when he scored 15 goals, including the promotion clinching goal against Brentford.
He netted nine times in 27 games in the First Division in his final season for Reading before he joined South Korean side Busan I’Cons where he spent one year before returning to England.
