Former Reading FC player Sam Hutchinson is back in action after he signed a short-term deal with AFC Wimbledon.
Hutchinson had been without a club after his contract with the Royals expired in the summer and he’s now joined the League Two side on a one-month deal.
Hutchinson struggled with injury issues throughout his two seasons at Reading and managed to make a total of 26 appearances for the club.
He played 11 times in the Championship under Paul Ince as the Royals were relegated in the 2022/23 campaign and then appeared 12 times under Selles last season.
The 35-year-old now joins up with the Dons who are looking for promotion and are currently in 6th position after 18 games.
AFC Wimbledon manager Johnnie Jackson told their official club website: ““He’s a fit lad, he’s experienced and he’s played hundreds of games in the leagues above ours. He was available and ready to come in and train straight away. This is a great opportunity for him to get matches and build his fitness. It helps us in the short-term as we are experiencing an unprecedented situation with injuries. He also offers flexibility as he is comfortable in midfield and defence.”
