Former Reading FC player Nelson Abbey has completed a transfer just six months after leaving the Royals.
The young defender, who signed permanently for Olymapikos in January has made a loan switch to Championship side Swansea City.
The 20-year-old broke onto the scene last campaign and was trusted by Ruben Selles after he had impressed in cup performances which won him a starting place in the League One side.
After several excellent performances, Abbey caught the eye of a number of teams by the time the January transfer window rolled around.
With Reading strapped for cash, they were forced to sell important senior players which included Abbey who made the move to Greek side Olympiakos.
He made a total of four senior appearances for Olympiakos last season as the Greek side went on to defeat Aston Villa in the semi-finals and Firoeninta in the final to win the Europa Conference League despite Abbey not being part of the squad.
Abbey managed a total of 31 appearances for Reading having risen up the ranks in the academy and looks destined for a bright future.
Upon signing him, Swansea manager Luke Williams said: “”I think his signing makes us a stronger squad.
“”He has key performance data that we really like in terms of being able to recover the ground behind him, because we are often very high up the pitch.
“He has shown really good one-v-one ability to defend and he shows a really good attitude towards having the ball, which is where some defenders feel uncomfortable.”
