Former Reading FC midfielder is reportedly a target for two Championship clubs and Celtic this summer.

Semedo, who spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Reading from Benfica, is being chased by Stoke City, Bristol City and Celtic according to FootballInsider.

Reports claim that Semedo is close to making a loan switch to Scottish Premiership champions Celtic who are keen to bolster their squad after qualifying for the Champions League.

The central midfielder was brought to the Royals by Veljko Paunovic and he made his debut in October 2020 in a 1-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers.

The Guinea-Bissau international scored his first goal for the Royals in a 2-1 win over Luton Town in December 2020.

He went on to make 35 Championship appearances in his loan spell and scored twice as the Royals fell just short of making the play-offs, finishing in seventh place.

Stoke already have another former Royals midfielder among their ranks after they confirmed the signing of Josh Laurent yesterday on a free transfer after his contract at Reading expired after a successful two year stint in Berkshire.
