Former Reading FC star John Swift is set to sign for Championship side Portsmouth on a free transfer.
The midfielder has been available as a free agent since being released by West Brom in the summer.
The 30-year-old is having a medical with Portsmouth and is set to sign a two-year deal with the option of a third.
Swift spent six years with the Royals after he signed from Chelsea on a free transfer.
He played a total of 202 games in blue and white and netted 33 goals.
After leaving Reading in the summer of 2022 to join West Brom on a free, he played 107 Championship matches for the Baggies and scored 15 times.
He will now join John Mousinho’s Pompey side who finished in 16th position in the Championship last season.
