Football round-up: Berks County lead the way in Combined Counties Division One

Combined Counties Division One

BERKS COUNTY are the new league leaders after their 3-0 success over Bedfont on Tuesday night.

Contested at Ascot United FC’s Racecourse Ground, the Swords raced into a two goal lead with a double from Shaun Wyllie.

Luke Hayden scored the third and final goal of the game to help County take three points and a clean sheet.

The win puts Berks at the summit with 67 points from 33 games, two points ahead of closest challengers FC Deportivo Galicia with seven league games left to play.

EVERSLEY & CALIFORNIA netted three second-half goals to earn three points over Langley.

Goals from Jamie Griggs, Sam Knight and Ross Mckernan ensured that the Boars collected their 13th win of the league campaign.

Eversley are in 11th place on 45 points from 31 games.

The Boars’ next league fixture is against Bagshot on Monday.

WOODLEY UNITED lost out on their away trip to Penn & Tylers Green on Saturday.

The Kestrels conceded once in each half as they fell to a 2-0 defeat which keeps them in 11th after 33 matches.

Woodley are at home to Brook House on Thursday night befroe a trip to Bagshot on Saturday.
