Southern Region Women’s League Cup

ASCOT UNITED squeezed past Woking after holding their nerve from the penalty spot.

Alix Todd, Kate Fox and Philippa Holden were all on the scoresheet for the Yellas in an entertaining 3-3 match which had to be decided by spot kicks.

Woking fired their first two takes over the top and Holden and Tiffany Skinner both converted to ease Ascot nerves in the shootout.

Woking got on the board before Todd scored the Yellas’ third kick to make it 3-1.

The hosts then struck the bar with their next attempt which meant Ascot took the contest with two penalties to spare.

Southern Region Women’s Premier

WOODLEY UNITED picked up a point in their first match of 2024 with a stalemate against Warminster Town.

Gemma Sims scored for the Kestrels as they had to settle for a 1-1 draw which keeps them in fourth spot on 14 points from nine matches.

Thames Valley Women’s Division One

ASHRIDGE PARK fell to their third league defeat of the campaign after they were bested by title challengers Larkspur Rovers.

The visitors hit three goals without reply to take the points.

The result leaves Ashridge in seventh on 16 points from nine games with games in hand on most of the sides above them.

Thames Valley Women’s Division Two

S4K LADIES put on their best performance of the campaign so far as they struck five past SANDHURST WOLVES to climb up the table.

In just their second win of the season, doubles from Megan Cox and Macy Handscomb were added to with a goal from Joanna Liddell to seal a 5-1 success.

The win puts S4K in sixth on eight points from 10 games, while Sandhurst are bottom of the table on five points from nine matches.


Thames Valley Women’s Division 3S

FINCHAMPSTEAD moved another step closer to YATELEY UNITED at the summit after they defeated Taplow United.

Chloe Bagshaw was at the double and goals from Alice Cox and Ebony Cox confirmed a 4-2 win for the hosts.

Having won nine of their 10 league matches, the victory puts Finch within two points of the leaders with two games in hand.

YATELEY UNITED maintained their spot at the top with an emphatic 7-0 success against bottom of the table Barton Rovers.

A stunning four goal performance from Georgia Harris was complimented with a double from Kayleigh Chaplow and a goal from Katy Mallaband.

WARGRAVE RESERVES climbed out of the bottom three with a 2-1 win over AFC READING with a brace from Jess McDonagh.


Thames Valley Women’s Development

BERKS COUNTY kept the pressure on at the top after they dispatched of Wroxton Sports with a stunning away display.

The Swords were in fine scoring form as they bagged an 8-1 win on the road.

Kiah Owen continued her remarkable scoring form by hitting five goals, Kirssna Thakar scored twice and goals from Jess Brome-Mbaya and Lucie Harvey settled the score.

Berks are six points behind leaders Rotherfield United who have won 13 of their 14 games.

BURGHFIELD RESERVES were beaten 2-0 by Wraysbury Village, while ARBORFIELD lost 6-2 at home to Marlow Town.
