A PANCAKE shop is to open in Reading, marking only the third branch in the UK.

Canadian purveyors of Japanese souffle-style pancakes Fluffy Fluffy have opened a new outlet in the centre of town, its biggest yet.

At just over 2,000 square feet in size, Fluffy Fluffy’s store in The Village is laid out in the brand’s signature “open kitchen” style spread across two floors for the first time.

The layout means that customers can watch their pancakes being hand-made to order, with fresh, local produce slow-cooked for both dine-in and take-out orders.

Fluffy Fluffy’s pancakes are served with a number of toppings, including Nutella, Tiramisu, Biscoff, creme brûlée, blueberries, and cheese, served alongside speciality gelato and all-day drip coffee.

It also serves a number of other soft drinks, including fruit lemonades, iced coffee, and matcha.

While an opening date hasn’t been announced, the outlet is due to open later this summer.

It follows the launch of Fluffy Fluffy’s souffle pancakes in 2018 in Toronto, before opening its first UK store in Manchester last October.

Hussein Umar, development lead at Fluffy Fluffy UK, commented: “We couldn’t be more excited about bringing our third Fluffy Fluffy UK site to Reading.

“It’s a fantastic town with great connections and our location at The Village will fit perfectly at the heart of the exciting hospitality scene that continues to grow in Reading.

“Fluffy Fluffy is all about spreading happiness through food and we can’t wait to make a new home for our fluffy fluffy pancakes in the town– you’ll be hearing more from us soon”

Fluffy Fluffy is set to open in The Village on Kings Road, central Reading this summer.
