A NEW legal services office has opened in Reading.

Fletchers Group, one of the largest clinical negligence and personal injury practices in the UK, has expanded into Thames Valley.

The opening of its new office follows its acquisition of Shoosmiths’ highly regarded serious injury and clinical negligence teams.

The move brings a well-established team of over 80 fee earners — including eight partners — into Fletchers Group, enhancing its presence in the South East and reinforcing its commitment to serving clients locally with expert, compassionate legal support.

The Reading-based team has a long-standing reputation for handling complex and sensitive cases, from birth injuries to catastrophic trauma, and is recognised in both Chambers and Legal 500 for its excellence.

Denise Stephens, one of the country’s leading medical negligence specialist solicitors, and Head of Fletchers Reading, said: “We have an excellent team here in Reading, who have unrivalled and unparalleled experience in both personal injury and clinical negligence.

“Most importantly, we have a team that cares deeply about client outcomes and has built lasting relationships in the local community.

“Becoming part of Fletchers gives us the scale, focus and investment to take our work even further.”

Fletchers Group, headquartered in Manchester, now operates from multiple sites across the UK — with Reading joining recent additions in Birmingham and Northampton, alongside existing locations in Cambridge, Leeds, Newcastle, Liverpool, Bolton and Southport.

The new office features 26 new colleagues and is located at Suite 1.7 and 1.8, The Quad Workspace, Reading One Station Hill.

Charlene Mann, Managing Director of New Acquisitions at Fletchers, said: “Expanding into the Thames Valley was a strategic priority for us.

“The team joining us in Reading brings an exceptional track record and shares our belief in putting clients first, always.

“We’re delighted to welcome them into the Group.”

This acquisition is Fletchers’ ninth in three years, part of an ambitious growth plan focused on becoming the UK’s leading serious injury and clinical negligence firm.
