Thames Valley Police’s firearms unit has been deployed to Windsor as part of the force’s comprehensive security operation for the upcoming state visit of President of the United States Donald Trump, hosted by His Majesty King Charles III.
Thames Valley Police has a proud history and vast experience in working with partners to police state visits and Royal events in Windsor and across the Thames Valley.
The force has a comprehensive security operation to ensure the safety of all involved while minimising disruption to the local community and businesses.
As such, the force will have resources everywhere across the town, including in the air, on land and on the waterways in order to keep everyone safe.
As is normal for Windsor, the firearms officers will also be deployed 24/7 to this operation.
Sergeant Daniel Hatfield, of the firearms unit, said: “Our firearms officers are here to keep everyone safe as well as engage with the people, so if you see us then please come and say ‘hello’.
“Some of our tactics will be visible, others will operated discreetly behind the scenes. Together, they form part of a wider security strategy designed to keep Windsor safe.
“We thank the public for their continued support and vigilance during this important event.
“If you see or hear anything unusual or suspicious, please report it to an officer. Or in an emergency call 999.”
