Fire service urges residents to avoid Friar Street following reports of a fire

THE ROYAL Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service is currently responding to an incident in central Reading.

Fire crews received a report of a fire on the second floor of a building on Friar Street at around 2.11pm on Friday, May 26.

RBFRS crews are in attendance and are urging people to avoid the area as much as possible to allow emergency services to continue to respond and access the scene.

 

Reading Buses has said that it is currently rerouting some services, including the 15a, while the incident is dealt with.
