Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue attended reports of a fire in Newtown, east Reading, last weekend.
In a statement, the service said: “At 7:30pm on Saturday, October 19, we received reports of a fire at a house on Cumberland Road in Reading.
“Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Wokingham Road, Whitley Wood and Wokingham fire stations were called to the scene.
“Upon arrival, crews found that a small fire in the kitchen of the property was out on arrival. After ventilating the property, one person was placed in the care of South Central Ambulance Service.
“They were on scene for approximately 35 minutes.”
