BREATHING apparatus was needed for crews treating a fire in Whitley last week.

The incident happened at 1.19pm on Monday, August 14, at a home in Staverton Road.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham Road and Whitley Wood fire stations were sent to tackle the kitchen fire, described as ‘small’.

One hose reel was needed to put the blaze out.
