Fifteen-year-old arrested after two men stabbed in Whitley

A 15-YEAR-OLD boy has been arrested after two men were stabbed in violent incident in Whitley.

The incident happened in Durham Close around 1.45pm on Saturday, January 6.

Emergency services were sent to the scene.

The two injured people, aged 41 and 42, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Forensic police were seen at the scene overnight as they investigated.

As a result, a teenage boy was taken into police custody.

Now, officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Katie Smith, who is based at Reading police station, said: “This was a violent incident in which we believe all of those involved were known to each other.

“I’d like to ask anyone who was in the area at the time, or who has any information which could help our investigation, to come forward.

“You could have details which are vital to our investigation.

“I’d also like to reassure people that we do not believe there is a threat to the wider public at this time, but there will be an increased police presence in the area while we investigate this incident.”

She continued: “If you have any information you think could be relevant, please call us on 101, quoting reference number 43240007930.

“Alternatively, you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or make a report online.”
