Reading FC could be facing a spell without tricky winger Daniel Kyerewaa after he sustained an injury in the Royals’ draw with Exeter last Tuesday.
Kyerewaa was absent from Reading’s match day squad as they defeated relegation-threatened Northampton Town on Saturday.
Reading manager Leam Richardson admitted that more tests would need to be done before the club learned of the extent of Kyerewaa’s injury, but admitted that they expect him to be out for an extended period of time. He was substituted in the 67th minute in the draw with Exeter after he was unable to carry on after miscuing a clearance and taking an awkward knock.
Despite not always delivering with end product, Kyerewaa has been a bright spark in the Reading team since he arrived in the summer from German side SC Preußen Münster
The 24-year-old has contributed with three goals and five assists in 26 appearances in League One this season.
Paddy Lane, who was bought by Reading in the summer from Portsmouth, came in to replace Kyerewaa for the trip to Northampton and could now get a run of starts in the team if Kyerewaa is to miss an extended period with injury.
