THE FAMILY of a man who tragically died following a road traffic collision in Calcot have released a tribute to him.
The statement reads: “On Wednesday, November 26, our beloved dad, Stephen Allen, was tragically taken from us in a road traffic collision while out on his morning walk—a daily ritual he had performed faithfully for years.
“Dad, aged 64, was a proud driver for Reading Buses and a familiar, friendly face to many in the community.
“Beyond his work, he was also a man of deep knowledge and passion; he knew the land in Berkshire better than anyone, through his lifelong study of history and archaeology.”
It continues: “A truly hardworking and devoted father, Dad poured all of his energy into making sure his family was looked after.
He had been full of hope and dreams for a not-so-distant retirement spent reading books, walking the fields, spotting aeroplanes, and enjoying time with the people he loved. We are devastated that he will not get to see that future.
“We will miss his terrible sense of humour and the countless dad jokes, his immense strength of character, and the limitless pride he held for us, his children. He gave so much of himself to us, and our world has been turned upside down by his absence from it.
“We would like to thank the emergency services and all those who came to his aid, and we ask for privacy as we begin to process this unimaginable loss.”
