SUPPORTERS of Extinction Rebellion were joined by members of the public for an art session earlier this week.
On Monday, May 5, supporters of the group took part in a sign painting session in Forbury Gardens, where participants painted banners featuring the words ‘Your Planet Needs You’.
They also engaged members of the public in conversations about the climate crisis, and report that almost 90% of people surveyed across the world would like to see their governments take more action on climate change.
Extinction Rebellion also warned that ‘bolder’ steps need to be taken to tackle environmental issues, amid what they argue is a focus on continued economic growth and consumerism.
Extinction Rebellion is a network organisation aiming to tackle climate inaction through campaigns and activism.
It is now comprised of more than 1,000 local groups from around the world.
