THE STORY of a Ugandan woman who sparked fame with a protest on the streets of Kampala is being brought to South Street Arts Centre.
Barbara: The Accidental Activist explores the life of Barbara Allimadi, who became the poster child for justice and equality in Uganda after staging a protest, during which a female opposition leader was assaulted by a police officer.
She passed away suddenly in 2020, shortly after receiving a master’s degree in Human Rights Law from Makerere University, at the age of 47.
The show is performed by Doris Allimadi and comes to South Street Arts Centre from 7.30pm on Friday, November 3.
Tickets are £12.50, available via: whatsonreading.com
