A BERKSHIRE charity has launched a campaign to raise £2,000.
Dingley’s Promise, which has centres in Wokingham, Reading and West Berkshire, is calling on residents to “give their love” to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) this Valentine’s Day.
The charity hopes to boost its Pandemic Recovery Programme through donations on its JustGiving page.
As the pandemic continues, Dingley’s Promise is facing new challenges.
As well as supporting children already attending the centres, many of the children coming to Dingley’s Promise for the first time this year have experienced delays to their education because they were previously unable to access key services due to Covid-19.
Funds raised by the campaign will help Dingley’s Promise to provide specialist Recovery Learning Through Play sessions.
The charity hopes that these will help children to fast track their learning, develop skills they need to achieve their full potential, and access the world in a way that works for them.
The money will also fund the charity’s dedicated Family Support services, providing families with support, guidance, and information.
Parent trustee, Helen Amner Munslow said: “We love Dingley’s Promise because of the huge amount of respect and understanding shown to our daughter as well as to our whole family.
“They celebrate with us; they’re cheering our daughter on as much as we are.”
