A NEW exhibition is coming to Reading, showcasing sculpture, casting, and metalwork.
Realm of Dusk is a collaboration between Tom Sewell and Sebastian Thomas and will feature a collection of sculptures and installations created with found materials.
Exhibits explore the detritus and waste of human activity, bringing together discarded objects and formed into art pieces in Thomas’ Reading studio and foundry.
They use discarded objects and examine their loss of original purpose, how negatives can be turned into positives, how things can be overlooked, and the subsequent saturation of objects.
The gallery will see a large-scale assembly of metal-cast works around a temporary site fence.
Realm of Dusk comes to the Open Hand Open Space gallery, 571 Oxford Road, on Saturday-Sunday, February 3-4, and from Friday-Sunday, February 9-11.
