THE RESURGENCE of covid is having a knock-on effect across Reading – some bus services have been cancelled due to a lack of drivers.
In recent days, Reading Buses have been posted updates on its social media pages.
The messages are all variations on the same theme: Service X is cancelled due to operational issues. We apologise for any inconvenience.
A spokesperson for the company, which operates routes across the town, said: “While we are seeing a short term impact on our driver availability due to a recent spike in Covid cases, we are doing everything we can to maintain our services with minimal disruption to our customers.
“To further aid this, we will soon be launching our new people-focused recruitment campaign, to inspire people to consider a change in career.”
