Reading FC owner Rob Couhig has spoken about his plans to make the club a global success in a recent podcast appearance.
Speaking on the Rob and Rich podcast, Couhig outlined some of his plans for the club including AI, new radio and TV content, and taking the club worldwide.
He said: “Reading literally was on the doorstep of going out of business despite it being in one of the most affluent areas of the country, despite the fact it’s surrounded by the highest technological companies in the UK, deposit the fact all the fans’ support never went away.
“We’re in the early stages, we intend to change our radio and TV package to make it much more attractive and viable. We will be bringing in a head of communications whose job will be to build it as a separate business and it will stand alone and contribute mightily to our club.
“Remember what English football and all sport is in this day and age, it’s a content producing machine and content is king. We will be monetizing that as best as we can.
“We believe we can be a worldwide name and sell worldwide. We’re bringing AI to the forefront, this has a lot to do with where we’re located geographically.
“We’re excited to be known as the club who has brought AI to the forefront.”
