BUDDING vocalists will be honing their skills at an all-day workshop, led by experienced singing experts, on Saturday, March 11.
Nationally-acclaimed ensemble Sonoro and its conductor Neil Ferris will be putting guests through their paces at the University of Reading’s Great Hall, with participants receiving expert advice on vocal techniques and interpretation.
The Arts Council England-supported event is designed to both challenge and inspire confidence.
Visitors will sing choral classics by Elgar, Mozart, Franck, Lotti, Brahms and J.S. Bach, while also exploring new pieces by some of today’s top composers.
Prospective participants should have some experience of reading music, although members of the choir will be on hand to offer some support.
The day will kick off at 10am, with the first session taking place from 10.30am-1pm, before coming back for the afternoon workshop which will run from 2.00pm-4.30pm.
There will be a public concert at 5.30pm where Sonoro, University of Reading choirs and workshop participants will perform at the Great Hall.
Places on the workshop are £20 for adults and £10 for students, with concert-only tickets available for £10 for adults and £7 for students.
