A NEW guided walk is set to celebrate two centuries of Huntley and Palmers history on Thursday, November 17, in aid of charity.
Local historian Terry Dixon will lead the walk which explores the company’s time in Reading, beginning with biscuits from Ancient Rome up to the present, including the people of Huntley and Palmers, their influence on Reading, on factories and buildings, and the modern legacy of the company.
The walk will conclude at the Museum of English Rural Life, where attendees will be invited to take part in tea, cake, and biscuits.
The event is raising funds for PACT, which is an adoption charity and family support provider, and the Royal Berkshire Charity, which supports the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.
A £5 donation per adult attending is asked, which will be split between the charities, but must be made in cash.
Attendees are asked to arrive before 9.45am to sign in and take part in the safety briefing.
The Huntley and Palmers 200th Anniversary Guided Walk takes place from 9.45am on Thursday, November 17.
