THAMES Valley Police has released CCTV footage of someone who may have vital information regarding an assault in Reading.

Police are appealing for information after, at around 2.15am on December 2, 2022, a man in his forties was assaulted in the town centre.

The victim was waiting in a queue at the taxi rank on Station Road when he was pushed by the offender, causing him to fall backwards and hit his head on the footpath.

The victim suffered a fractured skull and underwent treatment at the John Radcliffe Hospital, but has since been discharged.

While images of a man who may have vital information about the incident were released a few days after the assault, police have now released CCTV footage in continued efforts to locate him.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Siobhan Bradley, based at Reading police station, said: “I am appealing for anyone who recognises the man pictured in this footage to please get in touch.

“If you are the man pictured then please come forward as soon as possible as we believe you may have vital information about this assault from more than a year ago.

“We released an image of this man a few days after the assault but we are yet to identify him so I am hoping this footage will help.

“I understand the length of time that has passed since this assault but this is a serious offence and we want to do everything we can to bring the offender to justice.

“To contact us, call 101 or make a report on our website, quoting reference number 43220441445.

“Alternatively, you can provide information anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or via its website.”
