One man’s lifetime collection of model trains is set to come under the hammer in Wokingham next week.
More than 500 lots that belonged to David Bliss are expected to sell for upwards of £40,000, according to auctioneers Martin & Pole.
His love for model railways started when, as a child, his father built a track for him one Christmas morning.
The Caversham man went on to become a collector of all things railway related.
Phillip Knapper, principal valuer and auctioneer at Martin & Pole in Milton Road, told Wokingham Today: “We are expecting significant interest from collectors and enthusiasts, and we have already had interest from the United States, China, France and Israel.”
The auction will start at 9.30am on Monday, September 18.
