A CAREHOME in Reading is celebrating making the cut in an annual ranking of care services in the UK.

Signature at Caversham, in Willow View, has been named in Carehome.co.uk’s Top 20 Care Home list, which collates independently verified reviews.

The home currently provides residential and nursing care, as well as dementia and respite support, to 86 residents and is one of 10 Signature homes in the south of England.

It is the sixth time the home has been named in rankings by the website, and the eighth time it has received recognition.

With more than 600 reviews for the home on the website, it currently boasts a score of 9.9 out of 10

The recognition follows a series of new programmes and initiatives by Signature at Caversham in the last year to improve its services.

These included a new Regional Carers programme, where team members benefit from more flexible contracts and better rates of pay, which has seen improvements in staff retention rates.

It also includes a partnership with residents’ rights campaigner Jayne Connery and her charity, Care Campaign for the Vulnerable, and the introduction of opt-in safety monitoring technology across its homes.

Client liaison manager Karen Fleming said: “I was over the moon when I learned we are rated as one of the best care home providers in the UK by the people who know us best–the residents and families that have chosen to make their home with us.

“It is so incredibly kind of them to take the time to write a verified review and to give us, and the world, such lovely feedback.

“I am so proud of the team and how we have consistently strived to make a positive impact on our amazing local community.”

Chief executive officer Kay Cox said: “I’m so proud that our teams and homes are consistently so highly reviewed by the families and loved ones that use our services.

“It is really satisfying to know that the work we’re doing to innovate in how care is provided, and to help residents maintain the lifestyle they want, has resonated so strongly with the people we support.

“We are determined to lead the sector on resident experience, carer pay and reward, and digital innovation – and this work will continue throughout 2024 and beyond”.
