A VEGETARIAN restaurant in Caversham has received approval from Reading Borough Council to sell and deliver alcohol to customers.
As a result, Vegivores, located in St Martins Precinct in Caversham, can now offer cocktails, beers, wines, and ciders for consumption on and off the premises from 11am to 10pm Mondays to Thursdays, 10am to 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 10am to 10pm on Sundays.
It has been granted with several conditions, including a ban on the sale of super strength beers and ciders, with the exception of premium-priced and craft beers and ciders.
During Reading Festival, it must operate a ‘No ID, No Sale’ policy to clamp down on underage drinking.
Unaccompanied uder 18s are not allowed in after 9pm, and the company must operate a ‘Challenge 25’ age verification policy for its home delivery service when customers order alcohol.
The company has a range of 10 cocktails, 11 wines and a mixture of pale ales, a lager, a cider and a rotating list of beers and ciders on draught at the restaurant.
Originally launched as a street food stall in 2017, it opened its Caversham base in October 2019.
