A SCHOOL in Reading has marked five decades of education with a party.
Brookfields School in Tilehurst celebrated its 50th anniversary with a fete last week.
Pupils and their families were joined by residents in celebrating with live music from the Goring and Streatley Concert Band and a miniature petting zoo.
Actor Rudolph Walker also made an appearance, best known for his portrayal of Patrick Truman in BBC soap EastEnders, and drew the winning tickets at the raffle.
The raffle was held to raise funds for the school, as well as hot dogs, ice cream, coffee, and cakes.
Overall, the Pangbourne Rotary Club raised more than £200 for the school.
A spokesman for Pangbourne Rotary Club said: “Those of us in the Rotary Club wish the school a very happy birthday, and look forward to many more birthday celebrations in the future.”
