A BODY has been found in the River Thames near Sonning Bridge, and police believe it is that of a man who has been missing since early last month.
Thames Valley Police said they were called to the village around 9.30am on Saturday, April 20.
They believe it is 39-year-old Daniel, who was last seen in Caversham on Monday, March 4.
His family are being assisted by specially trained officers.
In a statement, Chief Inspector Rob Platt said: “Sadly we have today discovered the body of a man.
“From our enquiries we believe the man recovered from the water is missing person Daniel, aged 39, who went missing from the Caversham area of Reading in the early hours of Monday, March 4.
“Daniel’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.
“Our thoughts remain with them at this very difficult time.
“Our enquiries are ongoing but the death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to the coroner in due course.”
