READING’S Blue Collar Corner hosted a Very Street Food Christmas last weekend, teaming up with the British Street Food Awards to welcome food vendors for a range of seasonal specials.
Glen Dinning, managing director at Blue Collar, said: “It was a brilliant weekend, with a great turnout and a terrific atmosphere.
“It was us going back to our our best really focussing on street food and, and getting the best street food in the UK down to Reading for a massive Christmas celebration.
“We partnered with the British Street Food Awards, which is a competition to find the best street food trader in the country.”
He added: “Regulars to Blue Collar might remember that we hosted one of the the heat of that competition back in April, and so we wanted to do a winter version.”
“The thing that’s so exciting about this time of year is that we can all let our belts out little bit and enjoy it guilt-free.”
He added: “But I think what’s exciting in terms of street food is that Christmas food has gone to another level.
“We’ve moved on from just having a turkey burger or something like that, and gone to some really inventive specials.
“We saw a festive pizza, an Indian Christmas special, loaded wraps with deep fried brie– things like that really taking it to the next level.”
As for what’s coming to the Corner next year: “In 2024 we’ll be doing more of what we do best: big street food events.
“We’ll be bringing best street food in the country to Blue Collar Corner and mixing it with music and great entertainment.”
